Rugby highlights

Today for Kelly sports we played rugby. What we did was how to play the ball but before that we had paepae and learnt a quote which said Tama tu Tama Ora Tama noho Tama mate.He who stands,Lives he who sits perishes and the coaches who teaches us were Coach Dion and coach Tray we first started with some quick play the balls and then got into buddies and were trying to lift the other person up while trying to get low and lift up them. Our next drill was to tackle the person with the ball  the aim of the game was to try get to the other side while not getting fully tackled onto the ground after a while we then got into a team mixed with boys and girls after that we then played a little game of rugby. After a few we then packed up and left but took a group photo with them.

Waka Ama highlight

Yesterday Team tui went on trip to do waka ama for the 2nd time when we got there the club for waka ama was teaching us how to use the paddle and talking about our safety. When we we were done we then lifted the boat into the water and hoped in there after awhile sailing in the waka ama boat we decided to have a race with the other boat but unfortunately we lost to them 2 times after racing it was our time to get out so the next students can go in.And after eating morning tea we then got into 2 teams and played netball tag and after playing netball tag we played invisible touch and lost then packed up to go back to school.

Room 13 Rugby session

On Tuesday we had Kelly sports with coach Lucas and Dion  and what we were learning was the basics of rugby what we first learnt was how to pass in different techniques one pass was called spiral and the one was called flick pass. How the spiral pass works is spinning it around and around and how the flick pass worked was you had to hold it from the bottom with 2 hands and then pass.Overall I loved this experience.
